Specialty Printing

These projects showcase a range of hands-on printing projects that explore the possibilities of specialty production methods. From screen printing, to wide format, each project reflects my interest in print as both a design tool and a creative process.

Screen Printing

Björk T-Shirt Design:

This first screen printing project, I created a one-color design inspired by one of my favorite artists, Björk. The design parallels her experimental sound through playful visuals. Working within the limitation of one color pushed me to think about shape and contrast resulting in a design that feels expressive yet striking.

3 Insects Group Project:

This second group project focused on creating a two-color screen print, we decided to feature insect illustrations. Each member designed a unique bug, I chose to design a moth. The limited color palette challenged us to use layering and negative space creatively. The final product showcases a vibrant collection of insects including a moth, a ladybug, and a praying mantis.

Wrapping Paper Design

My â€‹wrapping paper design is inspired by the 12 Days of Chrismas song, reimagining the verses through a series of bird illustrations, such as three French hens and six geese a-laying. The paper is double sided, offering two complementary designs so both sides can be used, making the wrapping paper more versatile and visually engaging

Sticker Designs

Design Lab:

As Vice President of Design Lab, I played a key role in both event coordination and creative outreach. In addition to managing logistics, timelines, and vendor communication, I designed custom sticker sets that became a recognizable part of the club’s identity. These designs were used to promote events, strengthen branding, and engage members, making them a practical and creative extension of the club’s presence on campus.

PROVE Prototype Lab:

At PROVE Lab, I focused on design work to support the club’s branding and outreach. I created a diverse range of sticker designs, each tailored to highlight the club’s innovative projects. These designs were distributed at events and used in marketing campaigns, helping boost recognition and enthusiasm for the club’s work.

Heat Transfer Printing

Alien Cat DTF:

This direct-to-film project was a fun exploration of character design and a new type of printing. Inspired by my cat Calvin, I reimagined him as a quirky alien, complete with antennas and green skin. The project allowed me to experiment with more vibrant colors which translated beautifully through the DTF process onto fabric.

Frank Lloyd Wright Mug HTV:

For this heat-transfer-vinyl project, I drew great inspiration from the stained glass artistry of Frank Lloyd Wright. The design incorporates different geometric shapes and clean lines, taking inspiration from the architectural style. Translating into a piece that pays tribute to a classic designer through contemporary print methods.

Wide Format Stairs

Our vinyl sticker stair design traces the evolution of graphic communication. My steps focused on the 1990s digital printing boom, 2000s web design, 2020s modern technology, and a look toward the future of communication. Each design captures the visual language of its era, turning the staircase into a timeline of how the industry has transformed and where it’s headed.
